Frequently asked questions

What is Emtithal?

A Saudi platform that reviews engineering blueprints against the Saudi Building Code (SBC) using AI, flagging non-compliance before submission to the authority.

Does the AI decide compliance?

No. Findings come from a deterministic engine based on code requirements — the same drawing always produces the same findings. AI only explains and prioritizes; a licensed engineer certifies.

What file formats are supported?

CAD drawings in DWG and DXF, plus requirement documents in PDF for the knowledge base.

Which parts of the building code are supported?

Current scope includes SBC 201 (general building requirements) and SBC 801 (fire protection), with the digitised corpus expanding continuously.

Does Emtithal officially stamp drawings?

No. Emtithal proposes and detects; official certification remains with a licensed engineer registered with the Saudi Council of Engineers.

Is my data secure and sovereign?

Drawings are processed within a secure architecture, using sovereignly self-hosted models in the decision path without relying on foreign AI APIs.

What does a 'needs-review' finding mean?

It means the engine withheld a decisive verdict due to missing data or uncertainty, routing it to human review rather than assuming compliance — guarding against a false pass.
